The environment is, and must continue to be, the most precious and important concern for almost every being on this planet. There are a myriad of studies that have been done on the facets of environmental concerns, and there is a plethora of discussion on the implications of the subject around the world. Every country's government has its own priorities when forming environmental policies and regulations, but there is a consensus among each nation to collectively form and establish frameworks which are beneficial on a macro-level; conserving and protecting the environment is as much of an international concern as it is a domestic one. Global governments are gradually coming to the realization that it is enormously essential to protect all forms of life, and all the environments they inhabit, not only within the borders of their own country but rather across the expanse of our planet. We, individually and collectively, are responsible for ensuring the best possible health and welfare for our current generation and for generations to come. It is an open fact that the current conditions of a polluted environment are not only harmful to the wellbeing of humanity; what may not be as well known is that more than 1 in 4 deaths of children under the age of 5 years are attributable to unhealthy environments. As per a report from the World Health Organization (WHO), titled Inheriting a Sustainable World: Atlas on Children's Health and the Environments, and its a companion report, Don't pollute my future! The impact of the environment on children's health, every year, environmental risks take the lives of 1.7 million children under the age of 5 years. As per Dr. Margaret Chan, WHO Director-General, "A polluted environment is deadly one - particularly for young children. Their developing organs and immune systems, and smaller bodies and airways, make them especially vulnerable to dirty air and water. Harmful exposures can start in the mother's womb." Furthermore, as per the report of the Lancet Commission on Pollution and Health, published on October 19, 2017, there is an economic loss of 4.6 trillion U.S. Dollars, due to pollution; that is 6.2% of the global economic output. Considering the calamitous moral, economic, and political occurrences stemming from neglecting the environment, we strongly feel that the Time is Now to take constructive steps to ensure a healthy clean environment for every being on this planet; we endeavor for our present commitment to benefit future next generations to come. Though we can mention many more studies and reports about the environment which have either been already published or are in the process of being published, in light of the necessity of acting Now, we are taking this opportunity to mention a significant report prepared by His Holiness Pope Francis in 184-pages, titled "Laudato Si," or "Praise Be to You" - in order to highlight the main calamity triggered by climate change, environment pollution, and inspire action in the present time, right here, right now.
